[Starlight is holding up a Megumin in her telekinetic grip.]

This... filly, is armed with destructive power. She tried casting a high level Tactical-level spell onto the Castle this morning.

At 4am.

It's lucky I could sense the power build up in the middle of an exhausted sleep.

Please, someone take her off my hooves before I find a way to banish her to the human world.

I think I have a dungeon I could use but I don't WANT HER in my dungeon.

Just take her off my hooves please.

[The video feed loads up showing one big eye, before it's placed far enough back that a large dragon's face can be seen. The mirror was a bit too small for him, but hey, Celestia wasn't exactly expecting a dragon when she passed them out.]

[Megumin looks too pleased with herself.] Celestia said I could explosion though! And I didn't see anyone come into the building.

Not mine, because if she was, for pulling a stunt like this I'd find a way to get something to drain the magic off of her till she could use it responsibly. [The dirty look he's shooting Megumin is one of 'you're in road apples to your neck, stop digging.']

If I would have known you were going to lie and break your promise to me... I should have left you out there in the woods.

[He addresses Starlight again.]
I don't suppose you know of a flat, barren, sandy area? She can only use that spell once a day, I figure making her waste it on something she hates for a week or three should teach her to be more responsible with it's use...

[Once more back to the troublemaker]...And then I'm going to contact Celestia and let her know exactly how moronic and careless you've been. I might not know how to put a lock down on magic, but I'm sure she will.

Well I can't exactly boot her out NOW, it's way too early. So I'll just put up with her for now, and keep her under lockdown.

Quiet you. Now then. I'll see about making her burn off that energy she needs to, and then consult people later with whatever needs to be done. I'm not good with kids but I know a few ponies who are.

[He pointedly ignores Megumin for the moment.]

Feel free to contact me if anyone needs to know the the full rundown on me trying to talk sense into her about flinging explosions around after she tried to blow me up. [A sigh] I tried, but then again, I'm only a visitor here.

Since she's said that Princess Celestia gave her permission, perhaps you'd be best discussing this with her? I don't really have any claim to handle her punishment... I'm not her parent or her keeper. [It wasn't as if he'd not warned her. She made her bed, now she had to lay in it.]

[Megumin makes a face at Skyfire. Fine she didn't want a friend anyhow, big dummy.]

I'll see what I can do. I'll just figure out what's going on with her once I get breakfast. And Spike's too busy worrying about Twilight right now, but I'll talk to her eventually.

[He notices her making that face at him and looks sad, from then on pointedly focusing on Starlight. His voice is doing a fairly bad job of hiding the hurt though.]

I was hoping that she'd keep her promise and maybe that she'd want to be friends but...[He sighs] I'll do what I can to help, but she clearly doesn't like or respect me enough for us to be friends... It took her less than two days to break her word to me, my scolding her will clearly do no good if she doesn't care enough to listen.

[Megumin has no idea how lucky she is. Skyfire still worries about her, even if he thinks she was just playing him.] Just, make sure she actually eats something halfway decent? She looks like she's skipped a few meals...

[Megumin does feel bad as she pouted a little in Starlight's grip, but is sat down.]

I'll keep control of her, for now at least. But I'll get her something to eat.

[Starlight could tell Megumin was undernourished. She'd talk to him later about it.]

[Skyfire looks much relieved, but sighed a little.]

As much as I want to help more, I don't even know where I'm staying at the moment. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to look after myself right now, I'm in no way fit to look after a child.

[It was cold out, but he'd slept outside for the night. It likely wouldn't kill him, so he'd deal with it for the moment.]

Well, I'll see what I can do then. I don't have nearly as many of Princess Twilight's resources, but I am pretty handy with magic.

I'll figure something out.

[He nods, looking relieved but still guilty. If he were at home, he'd at least have the resources to keep the kid fed.]

All right, sounds good. I can also probably whip up a spell to get you shrunk down to a more manageable size anyhow. I'm good at those.

[Now what to do about Megumin who is trying to sneak out of the house. She picks her up magically.]

[Skyfire tries really hard not to look hopeful at the idea of him being able to be smaller, but he's not managing very well.]

I don't know how I'd manage to pay you for it, but if you can, I'll find a way.

[He swaps to text in order to keep things from being overheard, even though he's clearly not very good at it.]

'I'll do what I can to pay for whatever she needs for food somehow. I'm decent enough with construction and repairs if nothing else.'

She reminds me of me, too much power, not enough creative output. If I manage to get her exploding the right targets then that shouldn't be bad. And don't worry about covering for now.

She seems to have an unhealthy obsession with them from what I've seen. She sees nothing wrong with blowing up anything and everything, even when I pointed out that she could kill someone with it. When I brought up the idea of even simple spells for things like fire for cooking or some sort of light spell, it was met with a 'but it's not explosion'. Thinking about it now I am concerned she may be addicted to it, and I have no idea how to deal with magic addiction.

Still, let me know if there's anything I can do. Even if you need a break dealing with her. She might not like me at all, but at least I know I can handle an explosion to the face if needed.

[He'd already been blown up once already after all, what was a few more times.]

It sounds like it stems from a childhood thing. Maybe some mage saved her with Explosion or something and she wants to prove herself.

That would explain why she would be so fixated on it. Again though, it's a possibility, not a credible source of info.
